Green burial: Is it for you?

Death Conversations Kennett Square announced that the March gathering will focus on the topic of green burial.
The program, Green Burial: Is It For You? is presented by Carin Bonifacino of the organization, Friends of Green Burial PA, and is free and open to anyone.
The presentation will take place on Monday, March 10 at the Grieco Funeral Home office in Kennett Square and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Green (or natural) burial is not a new concept. It involves the burial of an unembalmed body, directly into the soil without a concrete vault, and in an entirely biodegradable casket or shroud. What is new with this concept is that many of these “green cemeteries” are essentially nature preserves – nature preserves that just so happen to allow for these limited impact burials on the land. For those who are concerned about the environmental impact of modern burial and cremation, natural burial offers a way to leave a legacy that feeds the planet and does not create any pollution or waste. Along with that, it is an alternative that is legal in all 50 states and is available, even here in Chester County.
Following the presentation, there will be plenty of time for Q and A and discussion. For more information, visit greenburialPA.org. To RSVP or for more information, email [email protected] or call 484-734-8100.
