Lisa Hamp was a junior at Virginia Tech, and was present during the April, 2007 shooting. She shares her first-hand testimony of the shooting and her recovery journey afterwards. She describes how her class built a barricade to prevent the shooter from entering their classroom, and her struggle to find her new normal after the shooting. Lisa discusses the impacts of trauma, the aftermath of mass violence, and how we can better prepare for and mitigate the active shooter threat.
